Hastings Bath Collection's bathroom vanity configurator lets a buyer start from one of 54 pre-built Urban Standard vanities or build a modular one from scratch, then turn the design into a quote in six steps. Vivid 3D built the 3D vanity models and materials, the modular logic behind Create Your Own and the content pipeline that keeps the configurator in sync with the Hastings catalog.

Case type: client project. Client: Hastings Bath Collection. Industry: kitchen and bath. Use case: 3D configurator for modular bathroom vanities. Pipeline used: 3D asset creation, asset management, 3D configurator and viewer, rendering and publishing.
"We've always believed that design should be personal, and the Configurator gives our clients the control to shape products exactly to their vision."
Bob Gifford, Director of Business Development, Hastings Bath Collection
Hastings Bath Collection has sold bath products in the US since 1885. It imports contemporary bathroom furniture and fixtures from Italy, is the exclusive US importer of VOLA, and runs a showroom in New York. Its main customers are interior designers, architects and specifiers, along with homeowners who buy through them.
Urban is a modular line. Cabinets come in widths from 24 to 103 inches, with one or two drawers, and each one takes a choice of finish, countertop, basin, accessories and faucet. Units can also be joined into a longer custom vanity. Multiply those options and no catalog page or photo shoot can show every result.
That gap lands on the people who specify the product. A designer has to explain to a client how a 28-inch two-drawer unit in a given finish will look with a particular basin, then put the exact dimensions into a spec package. Without a visual, that takes sample requests, sketches and back-and-forth with the Hastings team.
Hastings announced the configurator in January 2026 and placed it on every product page (Kitchen & Bath Design News). The vanity sits in a 3D viewer on the left, and the choices run in a panel on the right.
The first screen offers two paths. Pre-Built Models lists the 54 Urban Standard vanities, filtered by size and style, each with a link to its product details. Create Your Own starts an empty build for a custom, tailored concept, where the buyer combines modules into a vanity that does not exist in the catalog.
After the model come color, countertop and basin, accessories and faucet details, and the Summary View closes the sequence. A Next button always names the following step, so the buyer knows where they are. Every change updates the 3D vanity, which can be rotated 360 degrees, zoomed and measured on screen.
The total list price stays at the bottom of the panel and changes with each selection. The Quote button exports the configuration for a quote request. Share and image download buttons in the viewer let a designer send the build to a client or drop the render into a presentation, and a Help button connects the buyer with the Hastings team.
The configurator is the visible part. Underneath it, Hastings' range lives in a single 3D asset library on the Vivid 3D platform: more than 100 3D models and more than 750 materials covering finishes, stone and ceramic countertops, basins and metal finishes for faucets and accessories.
Each material is created once and reused across every cabinet that offers it. When Hastings adds a finish or a new cabinet width, it goes into the library and becomes available in the configurator, in product page viewers and in rendered images, without a separate photo shoot for each combination.
A homeowner can browse ready vanities by size, see the one that fits their wall in 3D and check the price before visiting the New York showroom. A designer can go further: build a modular vanity for a specific bathroom, measure it in the viewer, export the quote and send the client a link or an image instead of a description.
For Hastings, a quote that starts in the configurator arrives with the model, finish, countertop, basin and faucet already chosen. That shortens the conversation about what the client actually wants.
Hastings has not published results for the configurator, so this case study gives no performance figures. The signals worth tracking are the number of quote requests that start in the configurator, the share of builds that use Create Your Own rather than a pre-built model, how complete those quotes are on arrival and how many sample requests each order needs.
A bathroom vanity configurator is an online tool where you choose a vanity's size, cabinet layout, finish, countertop, basin and fittings and see the result before ordering. Hastings' version renders the vanity in 3D, shows the list price and exports a quote.
With a modular line, yes. In the Hastings configurator, Create Your Own combines Urban modules into a vanity sized for your wall, instead of picking one of the 54 pre-built models.
They build the vanity for the project, check its dimensions in the 3D viewer, download an image for the client and export the configuration for a quote. The same build can be shared by link with the client or the supplier.
The pre-built Urban Standard models run from 24 to 103 inches wide, with one- and two-drawer cabinets.
